Latoya Perkins is a 37-year-old Black transgender woman who has been a dedicated advocate for the LGBTQ+ community for over 13 years. Originally from Norfolk, VA, Latoya relocated to Atlanta, GA, in August 2023 to build a new chapter for herself and her family. Her personal experiences have shaped her resilience and fueled her commitment to empowering others.
Currently, Latoya serves as the Housing Manager at the Trans Housing Coalition, where she works tirelessly to ensure safe and stable housing for trans individuals. She also provides HIV testing, counseling, and outreach at TransSocial, guiding individuals on their paths to wellness and self-empowerment.
Outside of her professional work, Latoya enjoys spending time with her two children and expressing her creativity in the kitchen by crafting savory dishes for her family and friends. Her passion for advocacy and community care continues to inspire those around her.
